Welcome Gardeners of Pittsburgh

Welcome to the Homewood Community Garden of Pittsburgh website. We are a a bunch of urban gardeners that for various reasons like to have a place to muck around with dirt. The community garden is in Pittsburgh, PA located on Forbes Avenue between Homewood Cemetery and Frick Park. The small piece of land has been kindly provided by the Cemetery management so that we can pursue our botanical adventures. Our mission is to provide people with a little bit of land on which to grow food, flowers, and the sense of well-being that comes from nurturing growing things.

  • We offer approximately a 20-by 20-feet plot for a fee of $36 per year. Availability is limited and plots are allocated on a first-come -first-serve basis. At any given time the waiting list is frequently quite long.  Interested in a plot?  Please select the Help link above to find out about how to apply for a plot, frequently asked questions and more.
  • To find out more about the garden, the plot layout, what resources are available, rules and regulations and other community gardening related information please select about us link above.
  • You are still welcome to join our web community to share gardening ideas, engage in discussion forums and post relevant articles and blogs. You do not have to join this website to get a garden plot.
  • If you need to send us an email to inquire more about the garden, leave a feedback or comment for us please use the contact us link above.
